I think that businesses can be ethical and still be profitable.
I have two reasons to support my opinion.

Firstly, customers are more likely to purchase services and products from ethical companies.
Unethical behavior may lead to short-term profits, but long-term losses.
For example, Big Motor intentionally scratched the cars, so that they could receive more money for repairs from insurance companies, to which Sompo Japan turned a blind eye.
As a result, these companies' profits and reputations suffered greatly.
To make a profit, it is essential to be ethical.

Secondly, there are international supports for ethical businesses.
For example, fair trade is an international effort to eliminate trade disadvantageous to developing countries in a weaker position.
Cheap bananas and coffee are the result of unfair trade with them.
Fair trade products are chosen by consumers because they can support developing countries, even if they are a little more expensive.
The SDGs to be achieved by 2030, adopted at the UN summit in 2015, also include goals to eliminate such inequality among countries.

In conclusion, I am of the opinion that businesses can be ethical and still be profitable.
